Architects for Animals’ creative cat shelters

22 Mar

H3 Hardy Collaboration Architecture used found and recycled materials to build its Cat Shelter, which cost just $100 to make and weighs less than 40 pounds.

The architectural team salvaged cardboard tubes from a local print shop, bolted them together, caulked around them and then coated them with a polymer coating for weather protection.

Shredded newspaper provides insulation inside the tubes, and translucent plastic at each end of the shelter lets sunlight filter inside.
